One of the strengths of Saint James Brethren Church is its music ministry. The Adult Choir regularly participates in the morning worship services. Choirs for children frequently contribute to the worship services as does the Men's Chorus and the Wind Ensemble. Hosanna, the praise and worship team, soloists, and other vocal and musical groups also contribute to congregational worship on a regular basis.
Adult Choir...The Adult Choir, consisting of male and female voices, forms the backbone of the musical program at Saint James Brethren Church. They contribute to the worship of the congregation by singing a variety of traditional and contemporary selections during the choir season. On a regular basis, the Adult Choir presents inspirational praise and worship and seasonal cantatas. They sing for special services and other programs as scheduled. A significant number of Adult Choir members are also involved in other music ministries in the life of the church at Saint James. Choir Kids...Is for children of any age or grade. From September through May, they practice each Wednesday evening, 6:30 - 7:15 p.m. Age-appropriate music learned on Wednesday evenings is shared with the congregation during morning worship and other special services as scheduled. In addition to vocal singing, children participating in Choir Kids learn to use rhythm instruments and American Sign Language. Hosanna...Is the contemporary praise and worship team at Saint James Brethren Church. Its musicians include male and female vocalists and instrumentalists playing keyboard, guitar, and rhythms. Using contemporary, upbeat musical selections, Hosanna leads the congregation in unique contemporary praise and worship on Sunday mornings. Men's Chorus...On occasion, the Men's Chorus contributes to the Worship services by singing inspiring renditions of contemporary and traditional musical selections. Little Chimers...Little Chimers is a children's bell choir for ages 4 years through kindergarten. The children meet each Wednesday evening, September through May, 6:30 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. Weekly practices include the ringing of colored bells to the accompaniment of music. To participate, children must know their colors. Little Chimers perform on selected Sundays throughout the choir season along with the other children's choir. Wind Ensemble...Worship services would not be complete without the contribution of the Wind Ensemble which includes various brass and woodwind instruments. Periodically this instrumental musical group enhances the worship of the congregation. Its members include adults and high school youth.
